Ran down to Rogersville, AL to see what all this hype about cat fishing was about, this weekend. Wow was that ever an experience! There were 190 teams in the event, that more than some of the better FLW events. I would have never dreamed a that professional cat fishing would come this far.
Both the city and county really supported this event. I speaking to Suzie Shoemaker she felt that the economic impact of this event would be north of 250,000 to the area. She was very complementary of the professionalism and over all friendliness of the 190 teams.
As with all events the Fishlife crew handles this was top shelf. The captains meeting and dinner were very clear and very good! Dinner was handled by the local FFA chapter at the school.
There were big catfish and big paychecks but, I think the happiest angler was this little boy who walked up to the weigh in with his fish! It may not have been a catfish but he sure was a proud little angler!
Here are some more of the days big catches.
